I am getting ready to apply for PIO for our new born (born in US) but one of my friend mentioned about applying for OCI instead.
The information on eligiblity for OCI in the NewYork consulate website is little confusing. My question is since me and my wife hold Indian passports, would my new born be eligible for OCI?
Also is there something called CIO (Not Chief Information Officer)?

i am in a similar situation. i consulted a lawyer who said that even 1 day spent out the country can & must be taken in to account (for the 365 day eligibility). as long as your PERM LC was filed, you should not have a problem.

I requested(May 02nd) them to approve my case using "Cross-Chargeability", since my wife was born in non-retro country. But from June 01st, my PD (India) also becomes current. I really don't know what to do now?

IV seems to have a lot of folks here on a h1b with a non profit organization. My wife is currently doing her residency in a non profit organization on a h1b so basically she is not subject to the cap.
After she finishes, and she looks for jobs, is it possible to get a h1b transfer in a profit organization without being subject to cap? Or H1b transfer is possible only with an non profit organization.
Any inputs will be well appreciated.

If you didnt initially use your EAD to work, you should be fine because you have a valid H1B! See my other thread on this matter please.

Hi Everyone,
I need help urgently , my port of entry is SFO and on the I94 I have not written my complete name as I didn't understand the the importance of I-94 . When I tried to apply for SSN i was told that the names has to match with the name written in I-94 at the port of entry and the person said that I have no other option to change the name so I agreed upon the name which on SSN . Now I googled out and came to know that I can change the name in port of entry . It would be of great help for me if any one can help me out getting out of this situation .
